The Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS remains resolute.
The Department of State reaffirmed the goals of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS last week. The Coalition thanked their partners in Syria and Iraq for their clear and decisive action, but made it clear that calling the process complete too soon could allow for a reformation of the group, even with the recent removal of their leader.
“The enduring defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq remains the Coalition’s top priority,” the group stated. “We will continue to leverage the Coalition’s expertise to counter Daesh/ISIS’s global branches and networks, and to bring its members to justice. We will use all available tools in the pursuit of that goal and we will not relent until ISIS no longer constitutes a threat.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For leaders of the Coalition as they promote efforts to reduce the influence of ISIS.
- For officials in the State Department as they interact with leaders of Middle Eastern nations.
- For the president and secretary of state as foreign policy is crafted.
